We are looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Geography Teacher to join our Humanities team. This role offers the opportunity to inspire students to understand the world and develop curiosity about people, places, and the environment. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality Geography lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with opportunities to teach additional Humanities subjects.
Key Duties and Responsibilities- Deliver engaging and well-planned Geography lessons that encourage curiosity and independent thinking.
- Teach a range of geographical topics, including physical and human geography, environmental issues, and global development.
- Develop students' analytical, research, and fieldwork skills.
- Inspire learners to understand current global challenges and the relationship between people and the environment.
- Monitor student progress and provide effective feedback to support achievement.
- Create a positive classroom environment where students feel motivated and confident.
- Contribute to curriculum development and the continued improvement of the Humanities department.
- Support students in achieving strong outcomes through effective teaching and assessment.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to share ideas and best practice.
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Have experience teaching Geography within a secondary school setting.
- Possess excellent subject knowledge and a passion for Geography.
- Be able to inspire and engage students of all abilities.
- Demonstrate strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Have high expectations for student progress, behaviour, and achievement.
- Be committed to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
