Teacher of Religious Education (RE) – Leicester

Salary: £32,916 – £51,048 (MPS/UPS dependent on experience)

The school is a well-regarded secondary school in Leicester, looking to recruit an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Teacher of Religious Education for the new academic year. This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful Humanities faculty where Religious Education is valued as a key subject in helping students develop critical thinking, cultural awareness, and an understanding of diverse beliefs and worldviews.
The Role- Deliver engaging and challenging RE lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Inspire students to explore religion, ethics, philosophy and contemporary moral issues
- Encourage critical thinking, debate and respect for differing viewpoints
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing effective feedback to support achievement
- Contribute to the continued development of the Humanities curriculum
- Play an active role in the wider life of the school community
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
- Has experience teaching Religious Education at secondary level
- Possesses strong knowledge of theology, philosophy, ethics and world religions
- Demonstrates excellent classroom management and behaviour management skills
- Has the ability to engage and inspire learners of all abilities
- Maintains high expectations for student achievement and personal development
- Has excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
- Enjoys working collaboratively within a successful Humanities department
