Business Skills Trainer (12 Months Fixed Term)

This role is ideal for individuals who combine strong leadership experience with a passion for developing others.

You'llfacilitateengaging leadership, management and business skillsprogrammesthat help learners build the knowledge, skills andbehavioursneeded to succeed in today's workplace. The role aligns with industry-level titles such as Business Skills Trainer, Leadership & Management Trainer, Learning and Development Consultant, Corporate Trainer, Management Development Facilitator, Leadership Coach, or Training Consultant.

We are recruiting for two 12-month fixed-term positions. While these roles are initiallyfixed-term, they support a growing area of the business with exciting future opportunities.

The Role

As a Business Skills Trainer with Pearson TQ,you'llplay a key role in delivering andfacilitatingleadership, management and professional developmentprogrammesfor managers, aspiringleadersand senior professionals.

This is more than a traditional training role.

You'llfacilitatediscussions, challenge thinking, support cohort development, coach learners, assess assignments, and contribute to the creation of innovative leadership and managementprogrammes.

You'llwork with experienced professionals and leaders, drawing on your own leadershipexpertiseto bring learning to life and create meaningful learner outcomes.

The role is predominantly remote, with occasional travel across the UK tofacilitateface-to-face workshops and learning events. Most face-to-face delivery is currently in and around London, although travel to other locations may be required.

In your first six months, your focus will be on successfully completingprogrammemobilisation, becoming confident inprogrammedelivery, taking ownership of learner cohorts, supporting learner success, and building strong working relationships across the team.

What You'll Own

Success in this role means learners are engaged, progressing successfully through theirprogrammes, applying new skills confidently in the workplace, and achieving positive outcomes.

You'll:

  • Facilitate engaging leadership,management and business skillsprogrammesin both virtual and face-to-face environments.
  • Deliver inspiring and discussion-led learning experiences that encourage participation,reflection and real-world application.
  • Manageallocatedlearner cohorts, supporting learners throughout their development journey.
  • Deliver coaching sessions, learnerreviewsand progress discussions to support ongoing development and achievement.
  • Provide constructive,developmentalandtimelyfeedback to learners.
  • Assess and mark learner assignments and submissions in line withprogrammeand awarding body requirements.
  • Create,reviewand enhance learning resources including presentations, workbooks, facilitatorguidesand supporting materials.
  • Contribute to the design and development of leadership,management and professional development programmes.
  • Monitor learner progress and proactivelyidentifysupport needs or barriers to achievement.
  • Maintain learner records,programmedocumentationand administrative requirements within agreed timescales.
  • Utiliselearning technologies and digital platforms to enhance thelearnerexperience.
  • Build strong relationships with learners, employers, businesspartnersand internal stakeholders.
  • Support continuous improvement activities by evaluatingprogrammeeffectiveness andidentifyingopportunities for enhancement.

About You

You are an experienced leadership and management professional who is passionate about helping others develop. You bring credibility through your own leadership experience and are comfortable facilitating learning with managers, seniorleadersand professional learners.

You understand that successful leadership development is about more than delivering content—you canfacilitatemeaningful conversations, challenge perspectives, encouragereflectionand help learners apply learning within their ownorganisations.

You'lllikely bring:

  • Significant leadership and/or management experience gained within corporate, public sector, healthcare, education, learning and development, or similar environments.
  • Proven experience delivering andfacilitatingleadership,manage mentor business skillsprogrammesfor adult learners.
  • Experience working with managers, aspiringleadersand senior professionals.
  • Strong facilitation skills and the ability to confidently lead discussions,workshops and learner activities.
  • Experience managing learner cohorts and supporting learners throughoutprogrammedelivery.
  • Experience developing training materials, learningresourcesandprogrammecontent.
  • Strong coaching,mentoring and learner support skills.
  • Excellent presentation,communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strongorganisationalskills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Digital confidence and experience delivering engaging virtual learning sessions.
