Are you a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking to support young learners in Key Stage 1?

GSL Education Leicester are currently recruiting Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistants to work in a range of welcoming and supportive primary schools across Leicester. This is a fantastic opportunity for dedicated individuals who are passionate about helping children develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning during the early stages of their educational journey.

About the Role As a Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support pupils in Years 1 and 2. You will help deliver engaging learning activities, support literacy and numeracy development, and provide targeted assistance to children who require additional support.

You will play a vital role in creating a positive and nurturing classroom environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to achieve their best.

Responsibilities:

Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils
Assist teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons
Support the development of early reading, writing and numeracy skills
Help pupils build confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours
Prepare classroom resources and learning materials
Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
Promote a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment

Requirements:

Previous experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare or educational setting
Experience supporting Key Stage 1 pupils is desirable
Good communication and interpersonal skills
A patient, positive and nurturing approach
A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
