Are you a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking to support young learners in Key Stage 1? GSL Education Leicester are currently recruiting Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistants to work in a range of welcoming and supportive primary schools across Leicester. This is a fantastic opportunity for dedicated individuals who are passionate about helping children develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning during the early stages of their educational journey.

About

the Role

As a Key Stage 1 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support pupils in Years 1 and 2. You will help deliver engaging learning activities, support literacy and numeracy development, and provide targeted assistance to children who require additional support.

You will play a vital role in creating a positive and nurturing classroom environment where every child feels valued and encouraged to achieve their best.

Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons
  • Support the development of early reading, writing and numeracy skills
  • Help pupils build confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours
  • Prepare classroom resources and learning materials
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
  • Promote a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children in a school, nursery, childcare or educational setting
  • Experience supporting Key Stage 1 pupils is desirable
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • A patient, positive and nurturing approach
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
