You will work closely with students aged 4-19 who have a range of moderate to complex learning difficulties, including communication and interaction needs and complex autism. Your role will involve:

  • Supporting students' learning and development in the classroom and beyond
  • Adapting your approach to meet individual needs
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals
  • Helping students achieve their best possible outcomes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a flexible, team-oriented mindset
  • Educated to GCSE level in Math's and English or equivalent (this must be evidenced)
  • A commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing
  • A desire to learn and grow in a supportive environment

Experience with special needs is highly desirable, as is knowledge of:

  • Makaton
  • PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System)
  • Sensory-based approaches

£18,475 - £19,692 (Actual salary)

Permanent Ellesmere College Join Our Team as a Level 2 SEN Teaching Assistant 30 hours per week | 39 weeks per year (term time + 1 week) Working Hours - Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 08:50am-15:10pm and Wednesday a start time of 08:50am and a finish time of 16:25pm which includes mandatory training Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with special educational needs?
