Pastoral Support Assistant

Permanent Pastoral Support Assistant role in the pastoral team at South Wolds Academy & Sixth Form, Keyworth, a founding partner of East Midlands Education Trust. Work centres on students' wellbeing, attendance, behaviour and personal development, including key working identified students and supporting reintegration after suspension. The post involves liaising with families and external agencies to remove barriers to learning. Applicants need experience of working with young people and a strong safeguarding commitment, plus an enhanced DBS check and right to work in the UK.

• Provide targeted pastoral interventions for students
• Act as key worker for identified students
• Support students' wellbeing, attendance, behaviour and personal development
• Support reintegration of students following suspension
• Work with students, parents, carers and external agencies to address barriers to learning and promote positive outcomes
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure students feel safe, supported and successful
• Contribute to a calm, purposeful and inclusive school environment

• Experience of working with young people

• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and families
• Ability to manage challenging situations with sensitivity and professionalism

• Full enhanced DBS check
• Eligibility to work in the UK
