Music Teacher – Leicester Secondary School

Are you a passionate Music Teacher looking for your next opportunity in Leicester?

Clarence Recruitment is working with a successful secondary school in the Leicester area seeking an enthusiastic and creative Music Teacher to join their department for a maternity cover position.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Music Teacher who enjoys bringing the subject to life through performance, composition and practical music-making. You will be teaching Music across KS3 and KS4, working with students of varying abilities and encouraging them to develop their confidence, creativity and enjoyment of the subject.

The school has a strong focus on creativity and enrichment, giving students opportunities to become involved in performances, ensembles, productions and extracurricular music activities.

The Role

As the Music Teacher, you will:

* Plan and deliver engaging KS3 and KS4 Music lessons

* Teach practical and theoretical Music, including performance, composition, listening, appraisal and music theory

* Encourage students to develop their confidence as performers and musicians

* Use practical, creative teaching approaches to engage students of different abilities

* Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback

* Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment

* Support concerts, performances, productions and extracurricular activities

* Contribute positively to the Music department and wider school community

What We’re Looking For

Ideally, you will have:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification

* A degree in Music, Music Education, Performing Arts or a closely related subject

* Experience teaching Music within a UK secondary school

* Confidence teaching KS3 and GCSE Music

* Strong practical and theoretical Music knowledge

* Good classroom and behaviour management skills

* The ability to motivate and engage students through creative teaching

* A genuine passion for Music and enthusiasm for developing young musicians
