Design Engineer; TEKLA

Position: Design Engineer (TEKLA)
Engineering @365 is working with an established engineering firm specialising in the design, manufacture and installation of structural steel and architectural metalwork who are looking to expand their team with a TEKLA Drafter.

Role Overview

The Tekla Drafter will be responsible for producing accurate 3D models, fabrication drawings, and general arrangement drawings using Tekla Structures. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, experience in steelwork detailing, and the ability to collaborate with engineers, project managers, and workshop teams to ensure efficient project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

* Create detailed 3D models of structural steelwork using Tekla Structures

* Produce fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, GA drawings, and material lists

* Ensure all drawings adhere to company standards, client specifications, and industry codes

* Coordinate with engineers, estimators, and project managers to resolve design queries

* Review and update drawings following client or engineering changes

* Assist in developing standardised drawing processes and templates

* Ensure projects meet required deadlines while maintaining accuracy and quality

* Work collaboratively with the fabrication and installation teams to ensure smooth workflow

Skills & Experience Required

* Proven experience as a Tekla Drafter/Detailer within a structural or architectural steelwork environment

* Strong proficiency in Tekla Structures (essential)

* Good understanding of steel fabrication processes and connection detailing

* Ability to read and interpret structural/architectural drawings and specifications
