We are seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer for a well‑established engineering business in Northamptonshire, specializing in mechanical and ventilation projects across a variety of industries. The role is hybrid, requiring once a week in the office in Northamptonshire. A full, clean UK driving licence is required.

Pay and Benefits- Paying between £45,000 and £50,000 depending on experience
- Brand new company car

- Manage projects end‑to‑end: enquiry handling, site visits, specification, design, quoting, scheduling, installation, and customer handover.
- Work with the Project Coordinator to plan projects, create Gantt charts, and manage resources and timelines.
- Liaise with clients, ensuring clear communication and smooth project delivery.
- Support the team where needed, with shadowing at the start to learn internal processes.
- Take ownership of your projects, maintaining oversight from start to finish.
- Travel to client sites within ~1 hour of Northampton (national projects may arise).
- Proven experience in project engineering or mechanical design, ideally within ventilation, dust, or fume extraction systems.
- Strong technical knowledge, including design and specification of systems;
AutoCAD/3D software experience is a plus. - Highly proactive, confident in following up on opportunities and closing deals.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Personality and attitude are key: collaborative, hands‑on, and able to fit into a close‑knit, high‑performing team.
