We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to join a specialist façade and cladding contractor based in Leicester. This is a key role overseeing the design and technical coordination of external envelope packages across commercial, residential, and mixed-use developments.

You will manage the design process from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring façade systems are compliant, coordinated, and delivered in line with programme and budget requirements.

• Manage the full design lifecycle of façade and cladding packages
• Coordinate architects, structural engineers, façade consultants, and internal teams
• Review and approve technical drawings, fabrication details, and installation information
• Ensure compliance with building regulations, fire safety standards, and warranty requirements
• Oversee design programmes and ensure timely information release
• Manage RFIs, technical submissions, and client approvals
• Support value engineering and technical problem-solving
• Work closely with commercial and project delivery teams

• Proven experience in façade, cladding, curtain walling, or external envelope systems
• Strong technical understanding of rainscreen, SFS, curtain walling, glazing, or aluminium systems
• Knowledge of current fire and façade compliance regulations
• Experience managing consultants and subcontract designers
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong communication and organisational skills
