We are currently seeking a Senior / Principal Consultant to join the Stantec UK Air Quality team, based in either our London or Leeds offices, and working alongside colleagues in the wider Environmental Services team and Stantec’s Engineering, Buildings, Infrastructure, Transportation and Planning Teams.
The Air Quality team undertakes a wide range of studies across the UK throughout the development control process (e.g. in support of site promotion, input to planning application, condition discharge) for all scales and types of development. We also undertake detailed studies in support of Environmental Permit applications in the power, water, industry, minerals and waste sectors.
You will have experience in undertaking air quality impact assessments involving road traffic, combustion and odour emissions using air quality dispersion modelling software and monitoring programmes to inform report writing and contribute to Environmental Statement preparation. AboutYou
You’ll be a seasoned Air Quality consultant, degree qualified in a relevant discipline, be a Chartered member of a relevant professional institution and experienced in working in leading, mentoring and supporting junior colleagues in a collaborative environment. You’ll be capable of working both independently and as a part of our multidisciplinary teams on a variety of land development and urban regeneration projects.
Additionally, you will demonstrate experience in dispersion modelling, including the use of ADMS Roads, AERMOD, or ADMS5, and be proficient in applying GIS packages within an air quality context, particularly in relation to the digitalisation of modelling inputs and outputs. Experience in assessing highway schemes in line with Highways England guidance, such as DMRB and WebTAG, is desirable, while expertise in evaluating emissions to air from sectors such as power, minerals, industrial, or waste would be advantageous.
You will also bring experience in managing and mentoring junior team members, supporting their development and progression. A strong understanding of Local Air Quality Management (LAQM) and the UK planning and regulatory system is also essential.
