Automation Engineer

Position Overview

My client is looking for an experienced Siemens PCS 7 Automation Engineer to support pharmaceutical project execution, with a strong focus on PCS 7 delivery and MES interfacing/integration. This is a UK-based, remote role requiring hands‑on involvement across the project lifecycle and collaboration with internal stakeholders, vendors, and system integrators.

• Deliver automation work streams on pharmaceutical manufacturing projects from design through commissioning and handover.
• Develop and maintain PCS 7 deliverables (as applicable), such as URS/FDS/SDS, control philosophies, and design documentation.
• Configure and support PCS 7 solutions including control logic, graphics, alarms, and integration points.
• Support MES interfacing activities (e.g., data mapping, tag/parameter alignment, integration testing, and troubleshooting).
• Participate in and support FAT/SAT, site testing, and commissioning activities, ensuring documentation and evidence are completed to a high standard.
• Work closely with cross‑functional teams (Automation, IT/OT, Validation, Quality, Manufacturing) to ensure compliant, robust delivery.
• Provide technical input into project planning, scheduling, and risk management, escalating issues where needed.
• Support vendors/system integrators and coordinate technical queries to maintain project momentum.

• Strong hands‑on experience with Siemens PCS 7 (engineering, troubleshooting, project execution).
• Experience working with MES interfacing/integration in a manufacturing environment.
• Solid understanding of project lifecycle delivery:
  From design to build to test commissioning then handover.
• Confident stakeholder management and ability to work independently in a remote setup.
