HSE Officer

Astute's Power Team are currently recruiting for a HSE Officer to join the EPC Contractor on a New Build Open Cycle Gas Turbine project based in Bedfordshire.

The HSE Officer comes with a day rate from £250.00 to £280.00 outside of IR35.

• Conduct daily site inspections and walkarounds to monitor compliance with HSE standards and company procedures.
• Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with approved RAMS, permits to work, and risk assessments.
• Intervene and stop unsafe acts or conditions, promoting a proactive safety culture across the site.
• Support the implementation and monitoring of the project HSE Management Plan.
• Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings, and inductions for new personnel and subcontractors.
• Monitor high-risk activities including lifting operations, confined space entry, work at height, hot works, and LOTO.
• Record and report incidents, near misses, and unsafe observations, supporting investigations where required.
• Liaise daily with subcontractors and site supervisors to ensure alignment on safety expectations and standards.
• Maintain accurate HSE records, inspection reports, and site documentation.
• Assist with audits, client inspections, and regulatory visits as required.
