Configuration Support Engineer

Location: Desford, Leicestershire (Fully Onsite)
Hourly rate: Up to £35.07 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract Details: 37.5 hours per week | Monday-Friday | 12months Rolling

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Configuration Support Engineer to join a globally recognised engineering and manufacturing organisation within the Building Construction Products Division based in Desford.

This role sits within the Backhoe Loader Engineering Team and is focused on supporting current production and future New Product Introduction (NPI) programmes through configuration management, top-level bill of materials (BOM) ownership and engineering release activities.

You’ll work closely with global engineering teams across the UK, USA, India and Brazil, playing a key role in ensuring engineering changes and product configurations are accurately managed and released into production.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a design engineering or configuration management background looking to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with real product impact.

• Manage top-level machine bills of materials (BOMs)
• Create and maintain arrangement models and product configurations
• Perform engineering release and design release checks
• Review and process engineering change documentation
• Support configuration workflows within Teamcenter and Creo environments
• Coordinate engineering changes across manufacturing, supply chain, sales and product development teams
• Support product development and process improvement initiatives
• Help manage workflow bottlenecks within the configuration engineering team

• Experience using PTC Creo 3D CAD software
• Experience using Teamcenter PLM / Engineering systems
• BOM management and configuration control experience
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and conflicting timelines
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Basic project management capability
• Experience with in off‑highway, automotive, aerospace, rail or heavy manufacturing industries
• Understanding of engineering change control processes
• Exposure to production release or configuration engineering environments
• Previous Caterpillar systems/process experience would be highly advantageous
