NPI Engineer

Responsibilities

• Fixture Design & Commissioning:
  Support in the design and physical build of custom test fixtures.
• Product Testing & Validation:
  Support the R&D team to execute test plans for new products, ensuring they meet mechanical specifications before they hit the production line.
• DFM (Design for Manufacture):
  Review electronic/mechanical product designs early, recommend design changes to make them easier to build and test.
• Prototyping:
  Oversee the creation of prototypes, physically testing and validating that both the product and the production tooling meet performance specs.
• Process Documentation:
  Create clear work instructions and assembly procedures that make complex builds repeatable for the production team.
• Technical Troubleshooting:
  Review production issues, using a logical and hands‑on approach to fix any open issues.

• Hands‑on mechanical bias with strong practical hand skills; proficient with hand tools and workshop machinery.
• CAD proficiency (Solid Works) specifically for designing mechanical parts, jigs, or enclosures.
• Lab experience with instruments such as mustimeters, sensors, or environmental chambers to validate product performance.
• Logical problem solver; diagnose failures and implement fixes.
• Communication skills to translate lab data into production reality for designers and operators.

• Proven track record in Product Development or Manufacturing.
• Demonstrable experience designing and commissioning test fixtures.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, 3D printing, assembly).
• Scientific acumen and ability to maintain a controlled testing environment.
• HNC or above in Electronic or Mechanical Engineerin

• Right to work in the UK and have been resident in the UK for 5 years.
