Salary: £43,860 - £47,829 per annum (pro-rata for part-time) (Pay award pending) + 10% of top of grade for Market Premia
Working Hours: 37 hours per week

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Transport Planner with experience in Highway Development Management and leadership.
AboutThe Role
As the successful candidate, you will be an essential member of the Highway Development Management Team. You will provide support to the Team Manager and Principal Transport Planner in the management of the team, with specific technical and project management responsibilities in respect of responding to pre‑application and formal consultations on significant / complex development proposals throughout the development process, negotiating S106 agreements, supervising and mentoring / guiding other team members and managing the case load of team members for whom you have supervisory responsibility.

To apply for this post, you must be able to evidence in your application how you meet the following criteria:
- A degree in a relevant qualification (e.g. Civil Engineering or Transportation),
- Experience of supporting the development of transport policies and strategies of highway development management or land use planning
- Experience of working in a multi‑agency environment
- Experience of supervising and managing members of a team with varied workload
- Experience in interpreting and writing technical and non‑technical reports and providing strategic and technical advice to a range of stakeholders
- Knowledge of the planning process as it relates to highways and transportation and current legislation relevant to highways and transportation
- Knowledge of strategic transportation issues
