Salary: £50,000 - £65,000

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join a growing commercial team. You will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of electrical projects.
Working closely with internal teams, suppliers, and clients, you will play a key role in securing new business and ensuring projects are commercially viable from the outset.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
Review drawings, specifications, and contract documentation
Carry out quantity take-offs and cost analysis
Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations
Identify risks and opportunities at tender stage
Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders
Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings when required
Maintain estimating records, databases, and pricing schedules
Support value engineering and cost optimisation
Assist with project handovers following successful tenders
Skills and Experience
Essential:
Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator within construction or building services
Strong understanding of electrical systems and installation processes
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
Excellent numerical and analytical skills
Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Ability to manage multiple tenders and work to deadlines
Desirable:
Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC/HND or Degree)
Experience working on commercial or industrial projects
Knowledge of current electrical regulations and industry standards
Membership of a professional body
