The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Estimator to join a growing commercial team. You will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of electrical projects.
Working closely with internal teams, suppliers, and clients, you will play a key role in securing new business and ensuring projects are commercially viable from the outset.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
- Review drawings, specifications, and contract documentation
- Carry out quantity take-offs and cost analysis
- Obtain and assess subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Identify risks and opportunities at tender stage
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders
- Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings when required
- Maintain estimating records, databases, and pricing schedules
- Support value engineering and cost optimisation
- Assist with project handovers following successful tenders
- Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator within construction or building services
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and installation processes
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills
- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and work to deadlines
- Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g. NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC/HND or Degree)
- Experience working on commercial or industrial projects
- Knowledge of current electrical regulations and industry standards
- Membership of a professional body
