Zenith are proud to be working in partnership with our client to recruit an experienced Electrical Building Services Engineer on a permanent basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for a time-served Electrical Engineer looking to take ownership of site activities, manage projects from installation through to commissioning, and act as a key technical contact for customers. The role offers a varied workload across refurbishment, testing, commissioning, maintenance and service activities, with opportunities to contribute to R&D and product development projects.
Purpose of the roleAs Electrical Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing electrical projects involving weekly/regular UK travel, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standards. This will involve Management of Sub-Contractors and Customer liaison.
Key responsibilities include:- Supervising installation, testing, commissioning, maintenance and refurbishment projects
- Managing subcontractors
- Providing technical support and guidance to customers and engineering teams
- Supporting the repair, modification and upgrade of electrical equipment at customer sites
- Conducting site testing, maintenance, service and repair activities
Organising and overseeing factory and on-site testing programmes - Preparing quotations and pricing for project works
- Producing RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) and conducting site surveys
- Acting as the primary customer contact to ensure projects are delivered smoothly and professionally
- Delivering supervisor and client training where required
- Maintaining accurate service records, project reports and documentation
- Ensuring compliance with Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental standards at all times
We're keen to speak with experienced Electrical Building Services Engineers who combine strong technical expertise with excellent leadership and customer-facing skills.
Essential:- Fully time-served Electrician with a recognised Electrical Apprenticeship
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Previous supervisory experience within an industrial, manufacturing or engineering environment
- HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of electrical installation, testing and commissioning activities
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Willingness to travel to customer sites UK wide
- SSSTS qualification
- Experience producing RAMS and site documentation
- Customer-facing project management experience
This is a Permanent position with a well-established engineering business and is a chance to have involvement in innovative engineering and product development activities. There is regular, daily overtime available paid at Time & 1/2 after standard hours and Double Time on a Sunday. You will be paid for travelling to and from jobs outside of your standard weekly hours which are Mon-Thurs 8am – 4:30 and Fridays 8am - 1pm.
