Quest Employment is seeking an experienced  Mechanical Maintenance Engineer  to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Leicester.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer to work with a wide range of CNC and specialist machinery in a modern engineering environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring machinery operates efficiently while minimising downtime through both reactive and preventative maintenance.

The Role    As a  Mechanical Maintenance Engineer , you will be responsible for:
Providing mechanical maintenance and repairs on a wide range of CNC and specialist machinery.
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults, including gearboxes, bearings, shafts, drive chains, pumps, and tanks.
Responding quickly to machine breakdowns, identifying root causes, and carrying out effective repairs to minimise downtime.
Performing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to maximise equipment reliability and performance.
Carrying out major refurbishment projects on plant, equipment, and machinery when required.
Fault finding and interrogation of PLC-controlled machinery.
Working with Fanuc and Siemens control systems to diagnose and resolve machine issues.
Investigating reported faults, determining the cause, and implementing effective corrective actions.
Ensuring all maintenance work is completed safely and in accordance with company procedures and Health & Safety legislation.
Supporting maintenance activities across multiple company sites throughout Leicester when required.
What We're Looking For      HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum of 3 years' experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Proven experience fault-finding and repairing CNC multi-axis machinery.
Good working knowledge of Fanuc and Siemens control systems.

Experience with PLC fault finding and machine diagnostics.
Strong mechanical knowledge, including gearboxes, bearings, pumps, shafts, and drive systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Up-to-date knowledge of current engineering technologies, maintenance techniques, and best practices.
Full UK driving licence is desirable due to travel between company sites.
