Headline:Want to be the person who decides when a huge automated distribution centre is ready to go live?
The roleIf you've spent your career making automated systems work, this is the chance to own the finish line. You'll step in once commissioning is complete and run the final testing that proves everything performs as promised, before it's handed to the client.
Here’s what that looks like for you:- Plan and run the big tests (SAT, performance and volume). That puts the final say on “it's ready” in your hands.
- Test cutting-edge automation, from conveyors and cranes to shuttles. You'll work hands‑on with the kit that's shaping the future of warehousing.
- Oversee PLC and WCS/WMS testing, so you see the whole system working together, not just one part of it.
- Track and close out issues in Jira, then re‑test the fixes. You'll see problems go from found to fixed, and know it's down to you.
- Be the main point of contact during testing, working alongside engineers, commissioning teams and the client. Your voice carries weight and your updates shape the project.
Start with a planning session with the project team. Run tests and log results. Work through issues with engineers and re‑test. Finish by reporting progress.
About youYou'll feel at home here if you come from a Test Manager, Commissioning Engineer, Controls or Automation Engineer, System Integration Manager or PLC Engineer background. A strong grounding in PLCs, SCADA and automated systems, plus a knack for troubleshooting, will help you hit the ground running. You'll enjoy being on‑site and working directly with clients. A valid ECS card is needed.
