Senior Control & Instrumentation Engineer – Data Processing and Control Systems (DPCS)
We are Rolls‑Royce SMR and we’re doing something that’s never been done before. We’re revolutionising an industry. That’s a once‑in‑a‑career opportunity for those excited by such a challenge. This is more than just a job; this is a legacy. The Control & Instrumentation (C&I) capability at Rolls‑Royce SMR is responsible for defining, designing and delivering the control, protection and automation architecture that underpins the safe and efficient operation of the power station.
The Data Processing and Control Systems (DPCS) function sits at the heart of this capability, ensuring requirements are fully defined, managed, traceable and aligned throughout the lifecycle of the power station.
As a Senior Control & Instrumentation Engineer – DPCS Requirements, you will provide technical leadership for the definition, capture, analysis, allocation, baselining and assurance of requirements for Data Processing and Control Systems (DPCS) across the SMR lifecycle. You will work closely with plant, safety, architecture, human factors, cyber security, equipment and supplier teams to translate stakeholder needs into controlled C&I requirements and acceptance criteria.
Applying systems engineering and requirements‑management best practice, you will manage interfaces, configuration, traceability, verification status and design maturity across the programme. This role is specifically focused on DPCS requirements management and provides an opportunity to influence the integrity and quality of the requirements foundation that supports the wider SMR design.
