The Underwriting Portfolio Analyst works with the Portfolio Underwriting Manager to deliver profit and growth targets for home. Initially the role will focus on launching three new segments: contents only, buildings only, and mid net worth. Thereafter it will involve regular analysis of existing risk appetite.

• Support the Portfolio Underwriting Manager in developing a launch plan and driving the introduction of new portfolio segments for Home Underwriting in collaboration with Technical Underwriters.
• Implement the mid‑to‑long‑term Portfolio Underwriting strategy for the new segments.
• Regularly monitor performance and analyse data to identify opportunities to expand or contract underwriting footprint for maximum growth and profitability.
• Analyze loss policy quotes, market data and other sources to identify underwriting improvement opportunities.
• Represent the Home team on underwriting projects to generate value for the wider business.

• Comfortable working with and analyzing numerical/statistical data.
• Proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Strong collaboration skills across teams.
• Effective written and verbal communication.
• Knowledge of the personal lines insurance market; other backgrounds are considered.
• Project/Program Management, Portfolio Management, Credit Analysis, Banking, Pricing, Analysis Skills, Financial Analysis, Budgeting, Property Management, Contracts.
