Position: Finance Manager (Permanent)
Finance Manager - Leicester - Permanent - £40,000 - £50,000

An established, privately owned SME is seeking a hands on Finance Manager to take ownership of day to day financial control and provide improved commercial visibility to the business. The role will suit someone who enjoys being close to the detail and adding value through robust financial management.

Working closely with the business owner, this role will play a key part in strengthening controls, improving reporting and supporting operational decision making in a fast paced environment.

The role will include:

Preparation and coordination of accounts, including invoicing, VAT submissions and accruals

Full oversight of inventory management, ensuring stock levels, valuation and invoicing are accurately controlled

Management of cash accounting activities, including responsibility for third party cash in transit providers and government related contracts

Payroll preparation

Improving visibility across cash flow, debtors, revenue streams and overall profitability

Managing and developing a small transactional finance team covering AP, AR and invoicing

Acting as a key finance partner to operational and commercial teams

The ideal candidate will have:

Proven experience in a Finance Manager or Financial Controller role within an SME environment

Strong analytical skills and confidence working with detailed financial data

Experience using Xero or similar accounting software and the ability to adapt to different systems

A practical, hands on approach and willingness to be involved in day to day finance activity

The ability to operate effectively in a reactive, operationally led business

Experience with in security, facilities or contract led environments would be advantageous, but not essential

This role will suit someone who:

Enjoys ownership of the finance function and being close to the numbers

Is comfortable working directly with a business owner

Can bring structure, clarity and consistency to a business undergoing change

The role is office based in Leicester within an active and fast moving working environment with free onsite parking
