Salary and Benefits - Hybrid

About the role:

We are looking for a highly capable Senior Finance Manager, to play a key role in the delivery of statutory and non-financial reporting. You will oversee the preparation and delivery of the Group’s statutory accounts, including the Annual Report and Accounts, half-year disclosures and interim reporting.

You will manage relationships with external auditors, ensure timely and accurate statutory reporting across the Group, and provide high-quality, fit-for-purpose reporting to subsidiary and boards. As non-financial reporting requirements continue to evolve, this role will also own the non-financial reporting agenda, helping ensure the Group meets its regulatory and sustainability reporting obligations.

This is a high-profile role offering exposure to senior stakeholders, the Audit Committee, and cross-functional teams across Finance and the wider business.

Key Responsibilities:

Group & Statutory Reporting
  • Lead the preparation and presentation of Group statutory accounts, including interim and half-year reporting, ensuring compliance with IFRS and best practice
  • Manage the end-to-end statutory reporting process for all relevant subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with local statutory requirements and Group policies
  • Ensure Group consolidation and elimination processes are robust and fit for purpose
  • Liaise with local finance teams, Company Secretariat and external advisers to ensure timely filing and regulatory compliance
  • Oversee statutory reporting, ensuring reporting meets board requirements
  • Support the set-up and integration of newly acquired entities into existing reporting processes
  • Contribute to wider Group reporting initiatives, including involvement in Finance ERP implementation projects
Stakeholder & Auditor Management
  • Manage day-to-day relationships with external auditors, facilitating audits and resolving queries efficiently
  • Work closely with the Senior Finance Manager, Technical Accounting to ensure technical guidance is appropriately reflected in statutory reporting
  • Partner with Finance teams including Tax, Treasury and Investor Relations
  • Support Audit Committee engagement, including preparation of high-quality papers and key insights
  • Own the non-financial reporting agenda, including sustainability metrics
  • Develop and maintain robust ESG reporting frameworks in line with UK Companies Act 2006
  • Collaborate with Sustainability, Legal and other teams to gather, validate and assure non-financial data
  • Monitor regulatory developments and emerging best practice, ensuring reporting remains compliant, transparent and accessible
  • Support implementation of new accounting and non-financial reporting standards, including impact assessments and senior stakeholder communication
  • Lead, coach and develop a team of finance professionals (2 direct reports, 1 indirect report)
  • Foster a culture of high performance, continuous improvement and professional development
About you

You are a technically strong, detail-focused finance leader who thrives in a deadline-driven environment and enjoys working at the intersection of statutory, technical and non-financial reporting.

  • A recognised accounting qualification
  • Significant experience delivering statutory reporting for a large listed UK Plc or similar organisation
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge with hands-on IFRS expertise
  • Experience preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for multiple subsidiaries
  • Sound accounting judgement and the ability to interpret complex technical issues pragmatically
  • Excellent written and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate clearly to non-finance stakeholders
  • Experience working within a strong controls environment (SOX or equivalent preferred)
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships with auditors, senior leaders and cross-functional teams
  • Leadership experience, with a passion for developing and motivating teams
  • A proactive, curious mindset with a strong interest in sustainability, ESG and evolving reporting requirements
