Strategic Finance Manager

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Strategic Finance Manager to lead the development and delivery of the Council’s financial and capital strategies. This is a key strategic post responsible for the Medium-Term Financial Strategy (MTFS), Capital Strategy, revenue and capital budgets, and the co-ordination of corporate financial monitoring and reporting.

• Lead and manage the Council’s financial planning function (up to five staff)
• Develop and maintain the Medium-Term Financial Strategy (MTFS), Capital Strategy, and annual revenue and capital budgets
• Prepare and present reports for Members and senior officers on financial planning
• Ensure capital and revenue planning are fully integrated and aligned with corporate priorities
• Promote the development and use of financial data analytics to enhance strategic decision-making
• Provide advice and guidance to senior management, Members, and external partners (e.g. London Councils, DLUHC, CIPFA)

• Qualified accountant (CIPFA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with substantial post
• Experience in local government or a similar complex organisation
• Strong strategic and analytical skills
• Understanding of public sector finance, and proven experience of developing and managing medium-term financial and capital plans
