Management Accountant

Overview

Talent Guardian is recruiting a qualified Management Accountant to take ownership of management accounting and financial control across UK business units.

This is a senior finance role with responsibility for reviewing, challenging, and signing off management accounts, while leading and developing a team responsible for day-to-day reporting. The role plays a key part in standardising reporting, strengthening balance sheet integrity, and supporting the integration of newly acquired businesses.

• Full responsibility for the sign-off of UK management accounts (P&L and balance sheet) prior to final review
• Line management of Accounts Managers responsible for individual business units
• Review, challenge, and improve P&L reporting and key judgements
• Review and challenge balance sheet reconciliations across all UK entities
• Ensure clear ownership of balance sheet areas across AP, AR, Payroll, and other functions
• Improve the quality, accuracy, and timeliness of reporting through coaching and review
• Drive standardisation of management accounts, reconciliations, and month-end processes
• Support the integration of newly acquired businesses into group reporting standards and systems
• Identify and implement process, system, and control improvements to support scalable finance operations
• Act as a senior escalation point for technical accounting, controls, and reporting matters

• Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent)
• Strong background in management accounting and balance sheet control
• Proven experience reviewing and signing off management accounts
• Experience managing or mentoring finance team members
• Comfortable working in multi-entity, fast-growing, or PE-backed environments
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with a pragmatic, hands-on approach
• Confident communicator, able to challenge constructively and develop others
• Experience with ERP systems such as Sage 200 is desirable
