Our client is an extremely successful business who offer a fantastic opportunity to an Accountant who is seeking a varied and interesting role. You will be working in a small team in a business with a large turnover and multi faceted.

They are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join a dynamic finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial reporting, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting financial management activities across the organisation. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a professional with strong expertise in finance and a commecial approach to contribute to the company's financial integrity and growth.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with recognised accounting standards.
  • Oversee accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
  • Manage financial reporting activities using various accounting software Sageline
    50/IRIS and Xero
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities to assist senior management in strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and internal policies through diligent audit preparation and documentation.
  • Mentor junior team members, providing guidance on accounting procedures and best practices.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies to maintain accuracy of financial data.
  • Assist in the optimisation of financial management processes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of management/financial accounts - happy to "wear any hat"
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Sound knowledge of financial accounting principles, reporting standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail for accurate financial analysis and reporting.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and present complex financial information clearly.

This is a great role which would suit a team player who has strong interpersonal skills who enjoys getting involved with the accounts process from beginning to end.

You will be a qualified ACA/CIMA or ACCA - our client is happy to consider candidates seeking that first move into industry from Practice.
