This role will provide key support to the Site Leadership Team for the Wigston factory site. Based in Wigston and reporting to the Manchester Regional Finance Manager within Supply Chain Finance, you will support a range of areas including the preparation of quarterly forecasts, budgets and performance reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Provide financial support to the site capital investment process and facilitate management in controlling and forecasting the cost base.
- Develop and own standard product costing, including financial support for new product development.
- Ensure decisions, plans and strategies are based on sound commercial and financial analysis.
- Review and report performance against budgets and forecasts, and lead the formulation of action plans to meet objectives.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and group accounting procedures and take corrective action where necessary.
- Act as a business partner to site cost‑centre managers, supporting overheads management and mentoring on financial matters.
- Complete the site budget and monthly forecasting processes.
- Support and liaise with project leads on capital reporting, forecasting, capital business cases and monthly site project meetings.
- Analyse site prime and overhead performance and produce month‑end reporting.
- Maintain robust financial control by managing the site asset register, including timely capitalisation, disposal, and asset verification.
- Conduct periodic balance‑sheet reconciliation reviews.
- Supervise and support the offshore finance team, providing training and acting as the first point of contact.
- Deputise for the Regional Finance Manager when required.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the gravitas to build solid relationships cross‑functionally.
- Experience in financial analysis, modelling and investment appraisal techniques.
- Willingness to pursue a recognised professional qualification such as CIMA, ACA or ACCA.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial analysis into clear insights.
- Proven knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- Ability to plan effectively, work independently and demonstrate initiative.
- Desire to challenge the status quo and actively engage across the entire site.
