Financial Controller – Building Services, Civil Engineering, Construction

A well established (40+ years) building and civil engineering business is looking for an ambitious Financial Controller to join their team in Northamptonshire. This role offers a clear route to becoming a Finance Director in the future.

BASIC SALARY: £80,000 – £90,000

• Compile monthly management accounts for the group of companies
• Complete and submit monthly VAT returns for the group of companies
• Line management of the Accounts Manager and accounts staff
• Deal with financial institutions
• Manage asset register
• Oversee procurement to ensure alignment with company accounts
• Identify and implement strategic tax efficiency to maximise available relief and investment opportunities

As the Financial Controller you will bring a wealth of experience leading a financially focused function in a construction business. You will:

• Take an overall commercial view of the business and influence change and progression from a financial perspective
• Provide strategic planning and commercial insight both locally and at group level
• Communicate effectively and be willing to give commercial input to senior leaders

• Finance qualification (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) or a degree; experience can also be considered (Qualified by Experience)
• Strong background in strategic planning
• Experience with legal, personnel, health & safety, and company secretarial matters
