British Transport Police is now recruiting Police Officers.
LocationsLeicester, Coventry, Peterborough and Nottingham.

As a Police Officer you’ll play a vital role in protecting millions of passengers, staff and the public. Responsibilities include visible patrolling, responding to emergencies, conducting criminal investigations, gathering intelligence and building trust with the communities we serve.
Responsibilities- Tackling serious and organised crime.
- Addressing graffiti, theft and public reassurance.
- Responding to emergencies.
- Conducting investigations.
- Gathering intelligence.
- Building community trust.
- Starting salary: £32,472 rising year‑on‑year to £50,256 after five years.

- Membership of the Police Federation.

- Must not have been unsuccessful in a Police Officer, Special Constable or PCSO application within 3 months.
- Must not have been unsuccessful in BTP vetting within the last 12 months.
- Must not have received a custodial sentence (including suspended sentences).
- Must not have been dismissed from another force or currently have a live investigation.
- Must not be declared bankrupt or have a CCJ or un‑managed IVA.
- Must not have offensive tattoos or tattoos on face/neck (case‑by‑case).
- Must have permanent right to live and work in the UK.
- Must have resided consistently in the UK for the past 3 years.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong communication skills.
- Good judgement and problem‑solving.
- Empathy and emotional resilience.
- Ability to build trust and stay calm under pressure.
Applications are completed online. A situational judgement test (SJT) is required; failure to pass will result in no further progress. The campaign is for new recruits only; transferees must apply via a separate advert.
