Join the LLR Local Authority Resilience Partnership and help strengthen community resilience across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. You will work with local authorities, partner organisations and communities to improve preparedness, build resilience capacity and support effective planning for a range of risks and emergencies.
About the RoleAre you interested in helping communities and organisations become better prepared for emergencies and disruption?
Leicestershire County Council is looking for a Resilience Officer to join the LLR Local Authority Resilience Partnership. The role will help strengthen community resilience across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland by supporting local authorities, partner organisations and communities to understand risks, develop practical plans and build their own resilience capacity.
You will work with a range of organisations to support emergency planning, business continuity, training, exercising and lessons learning. You will help partners prepare for risks such as severe weather, flooding, animal disease and pandemic flu, with a focus on improving readiness before incidents occur.
Incident response is part of the role through the Resilience Partnership Duty Officer rota, but the main focus is on preparedness, partnership working and building long-term resilience across organisations and communities.
As part of this role, you will be required to join the Resilience Partnership Duty Officer rota, which involves being on call for around 6 to 7 weeks each year.
About YouTo apply for this post, you must be able to evidence in your application how you meet the following criteria:
- Degree or diploma in emergency planning, resilience, disaster management, community safety, public service, business continuity, or demonstrable relevant experience.
- Experience of developing, reviewing or supporting emergency, contingency, resilience or business continuity plans.
- Experience of working with communities, voluntary sector groups, public sector partners or other organisations to improve preparedness and resilience.
- Ability to build relationships with a range of organisations and support them to achieve shared objectives.
- Experience of developing or delivering training, briefings, workshops or exercise materials.
- Ability to communicate clearly with different audiences, including professional partners, community groups and elected members.
- Ability to support organisations to understand risk and improve their own resilience arrangements.
- Ability to work flexibly, solve problems and respond to changing priorities.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce clear written work.
