Personal Assistant

Outdoorsy person to support the client to go on long weekends at a disabled fishing venue, to assist with setting up the fishing area and provide company. Venues include Spring Pools, Rugby CV23 0EB
and Foundation Lake, Mallory Park, Stapleton Ln, Kirkby Mallory, Leicester LE9 7QJ
. The client lives in Blaby, 45p a mile will be provided.

Thursdays and Sundays 12am - 5pm every other week, time and day may vary.

• Drive to and meet the client at a disabled accessible fishing venue and support the client, ensuring safety while the partner sets up fishing equipment for the weekend (Thursday).
• Once set up, the PA can leave the client there to fish.
• Return to the venue on Sunday and again support the client while the partner packs equipment away.
• Support the client by passing equipment while setting up their own equipment, assist with making hot drinks, and converse with the client.

• Full, clean UK driving licence.
• Hourly rate: £17 per hour for self‑employed PA, £13.21 per hour for employed PA.
• Client main diagnosis:
  Visual impairment, type 2 diabetes, osteoarthritis and stroke (left‑sided weakness).

There are no communication barriers.

The client has limited movement in the knees/ hands/ shoulders, some weakness in the left side and neuropathy in the lower legs/feet. The client has an electric wheelchair and uses a walking frame for short distances, which they can manage themselves.

It is important for the client to be able to get out of the house, greatly improving their mental health; they like fishing and go all year round.
