We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Nurse to join our expanding team on the Belvoir Ward, a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) ward at the Bradgate Mental Health Unit.

Psychiatric Intensive Care Units (PICU) are specialised wards that provide inpatient mental health care, assessment and comprehensive treatment to individuals who are experiencing the most acutely disturbed phase of a serious mental disorder, where some present with acute distress and may be at absconding, suicide or self‑harm risk. Belvoir Ward is a 10‑bed Male PICU with a higher staff‑to‑patient ratio compared to most wards.

As a Mental Health Nurse at the Bradgate Mental Health Unit, you will deliver high‑quality, safe, and compassionate care in accordance with NHS values, ensuring dignity, respect, and patient‑centred care at all times. The post holder must demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and a clear understanding of the responsibilities associated with working within a Male PICU setting, where patient and staff safety is paramount.

• Providing and supervising nursing care to male patients in a PICU setting.

Qualifications, experience and skills expected:

• Registration as a Mental Health Nurse with relevant UK regulatory body.
• Experience working in an acute mental health environment, preferably PICU.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and crisis management skills.
