Base: You may be required to work in other designated locations of the Trust as well as your primary base. In particular, flexibility is required across the three main hospital sites (Leicester Royal Infirmary, Leicester General Hospital and Glenfield Hospital). If your initial location is one of these sites excess travel reimbursement would not apply for a permanent or temporary change of base.

Main duties of the jobThe role of Domestic Team Leader is a multi-skilled role which involves the monitoring of the domestic staff whilst they carry out their cleaning duties within designated patient and non-patient areas within the Trust.
Auditing Wards and Departments using the FM 1st tool. The post holder will maintain good working relationships with:
Work colleagues throughout the Trust, Domestic Team, Domestic and Facilities managers, Ward and department clinical teams, Patients and the general public.

Job responsibilities- Display a high standard of personal hygiene and presentation and demonstrate good hygiene practices.
- Observe confidentiality of patients and employing trusts business at all times.
- Operational checks, processes and policies are adhered to within department.
- Communicate and liaise effectively with work Colleagues, Managers and with Clinical Teams accordance with Trust values.
- Monitoring the team ensuring they are working safely when undertaking their duties.
- Complete a daily handover ensuring that accurate, detailed information is communicated to the team and your Domestic Manager.
- Undertake scheduled cleaning audits using a hand held electronic monitoring FM 1st system, ensuring rectifications are completed within the specified time scales.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the work area, adhering to Trust policies and procedures.
- Must be able to demonstrate behaviours consistent with the Trust's Values and Behaviours
- Able to carry out instructions and duties as detailed in the job description, including auditing
- Having or Willingness to work towards achieving: NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in cleaning and support services Level 3 in Food Safety.
- Record keeping both manual and electronic
- Previous experience of working within a healthcare environment.
- Previous experience of working in a supervisory role
- BICS Training
- Have a good standard of the English language both written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team or on own initiative.
- Able to prioritise tasks, achieving deadlines and under pressure
- Effective communication skills with all levels of staff, patients and visitors.
- Able to handle difficult situations discreetly and patiently.
- Able to work in a busy environment.
- Positive approach to customer care and seeks to enhance service provision
- Good level of physical fitness
- Working to deadlines safely in a care environment.
- Able to cover colleagues when required and to work unsociable hours.

- Able to demonstrate a commitment and understanding of the importance of treating all individuals with dignity and respect appropriate to their individual needs.
- Must be able to attend Trust induction and any relevant training that is required for this position.
