Systemic Family Therapist

Overview

We are currently seeking a Systemic Psychotherapist to join our Under‑18 Eating Disorder Day Service, a pilot initiative launched in January 2024. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to an evolving and innovative service that is already making a positive impact by supporting young people with moderate to severe eating disorders within the community. The position is available as a secondment until 31 March 2027.

• Deliver intensive, family‑focused interventions designed to prevent inpatient admissions, blending multi‑family group therapy with direct, home‑based therapeutic input delivered by the Closer2
  
  Home team.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to assess and provide interventions for individuals and families referred to the Eating Disorders Service.
• Develop high‑quality specialist family therapy assessment and interventions within the team.
• Provide family therapy advice and supervision to colleagues.
• Involve service users and carers in the planning of their treatment and in the development of the service.
• Promote autonomy of individuals and, in partnership with families and carers, assess, plan and implement interventions and care to promote recovery from eating disorders.

• Dynamic, compassionate, and experienced systemic therapist, confident working with young people and families affected by eating disorders.
• Background in CAMHS and/or eating disorder services, with clinical confidence, creativity, and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Proficiency in delivering systemic interventions, supporting family functioning, and contributing to service development.
• UK driving licence and vehicle access is beneficial but not essential.
• We welcome applications from candidates nearing completion of their systemic psychotherapy training.
