Job summaryTaking responsibility for making a significant contribution to the nursing input, participating fully in the referral and allocation process, assessments, treatment, risk management, safeguarding vulnerable children and adults, care coordination of service users as well as contributing to case discussions and service-related meetings.
Offering consultations and supervision to colleagues and students as well as staff in other services.
Main duties of the job- Provide highly specialist nursing assessments, formulations, risk assessments, and evidence-based interventions.
- Deliver timely and accessible care through clinic-based and outreach models, including engagement with hard-to-reach service users.
- Provide specialist nursing consultation, advice, and support to colleagues and partner agencies regarding assessment, risk management, and treatment planning.
- Care coordinate a complex caseload, undertaking comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments and delivering integrated care plans.
- Lead on the assessment and management of clinical risk, safeguarding concerns, and complex presentations.
- Support the development of nursing practice through supervision, mentorship, teaching, and clinical leadership.
- Participate in supervision, appraisal, and continuing professional development.
- Chair and/or attend MDTs, providing specialist nursing leadership, consultation, and clinical oversight.
- Promote integrated physical and mental healthcare, including physical health monitoring and health promotion.
- Work collaboratively with HPFT teams and partner agencies to support early identification and effective management of mental health difficulties.
- Lead service development, quality improvement, and innovation initiatives to enhance safe and effective care.
- Provide clinical leadership within the Enhanced Safety Support Pathway and Early Psychosis Pathway, supporting staff with complex and high-risk cases.

Person Specification QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/TRAINING Essential- RMN, RGN or RSCN
- Further training/qualification in relevant area of practice
- Evidence of CPD
- Specialist training in an appropriate area and knowledge of CAPA and CYP-IAPT
- Postgraduate diploma in CBT (General or IAPT) with eligibility for, or accreditation with, the BABCP
- Post qualification experience in a CYP team or related area, or several years experience prior to qualification, with experience of working with moderate to severe mental health problems and knowledge of a range of clinical interventions with children/adolescents and their carers/families.
- Experience of multi-disciplinary team working, and inter‑agency collaboration
- Knowledge of child development, child and adolescent mental health and an understanding of a range of theoretical approaches
