Help Support the Next Generation of Leicester City Women Players

Leicester City Women are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Academy Physios / Sports Therapists to join our Women's Academy medical team on a casual basis.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within a professional football environment, providing high-quality medical support to talented young players across our Academy pathway. Working with age groups that include Under-18 players, you will contribute to player welfare, injury management, rehabilitation, and performance support within a multidisciplinary environment focused on excellence and development.

Whether pitchside on a matchday or supporting rehabilitation sessions during the week, you will play an important role in helping players stay healthy, develop safely, and perform at their best.

About the Role

As a Casual Academy Physio / Sports Therapist, you will provide medical support across designated Academy age groups, attending training sessions and fixtures as required.

You will be responsible for the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of injuries, supporting players through every stage of their recovery while working collaboratively with coaches, medical staff, players, and parents.

This role offers flexible casual working opportunities, primarily during evenings, weekends, and matchdays, with occasional travel to fixtures across the UK.

What You'll Be Doing Medical and Matchday Support
  • Attend Academy training sessions and matches for designated age groups.
  • Provide pitch-side medical support and emergency care where required.
  • Deliver high-quality physiotherapy and sports therapy services to Academy players.
  • Ensure players receive appropriate treatment and support throughout their rehabilitation journey.
Injury Assessment and Rehabilitation
  • Assess, diagnose, treat, and rehabilitate injuries sustained by Academy players.
  • Deliver individual and group-based rehabilitation programmes.
  • Support injury prevention initiatives and return-to-play protocols.
  • Conduct gym and pitch-based rehabilitation sessions where appropriate.
Multidisciplinary Working
  • Work collaboratively with coaches, sports science staff, and other medical practitioners.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary discussions regarding injured players.
  • Liaise with senior medical staff and club doctors when additional assessments or referrals are required.
Medical Administration
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records.
  • Upload player treatment and assessment notes to Kitman Labs within 48 hours.
  • Support the management of medical equipment and supplies.
  • Ensure all work meets professional, medical, and club governance standards.
Safeguarding and Professional Standards
  • Maintain the safety and welfare of all players.
  • Report safeguarding concerns through the appropriate club channels.
  • Adhere to all safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, health and safety, confidentiality, and GDPR policies.
  • Represent Leicester City Women in a professional manner at all times.
What We're Looking For Essential Qualifications
  • BSc (Hons) Degree in Physiotherapy or Sports Therapy.
  • HCPC Registration (Physiotherapy) or Full Membership of the Society of Sports Therapy.
  • Appropriate professional indemnity insurance.
  • FA DBS.
  • FA Safeguarding Children Certificate (or willingness to complete within one month).
  • Commitment to ongoing safeguarding and professional development training.
  • Experience with in Academy football and/or professional women's football.
  • Experience working with children and adolescent athletes.
  • Experience with in an elite sporting or high-performance environment.
Skills and Experience
