An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our friendly, welcoming and supportive inpatient Occupational Therapy Team at the Bradgate Mental Health Unit. The successful post holder will work within our mental health wards, with opportunities to provide cross-cover and specialist input across our acute, PICU and Forensic services, supported by the wider Occupational Therapy team.

This is an ideal opportunity for an Occupational Therapist who has experience within mental health services and is looking to further develop their specialist clinical skills, leadership abilities and contribution to service development within inpatient care.

As a Band 6 Occupational Therapist
, you will hold a specialist caseload and be responsible for delivering high-quality occupational therapy assessments, interventions and discharge planning for adults experiencing acute mental health difficulties. You will utilise advanced clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice to support individuals in identifying and achieving meaningful occupational goals throughout their recovery journey.

You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues and provide specialist occupational therapy input within clinical decision-making, care planning and risk management processes. You will be actively involved in ward reviews, MDT meetings, safeguarding processes and discharge planning pathways, ensuring occupational perspectives are embedded throughout patient care.

Our team delivers a diverse and engaging therapeutic programme through both group work and individual interventions, on and off the ward, supporting individuals to maximise independence, participation and recovery.

As a Band 6 Occupational Therapist
, you will play an important leadership role within the Occupational Therapy service. You will provide supervision, support and professional guidance to Band 5 Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants and students, contributing to the ongoing development of the workforce and promoting high standards of occupational therapy practice.

You will also have opportunities to contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, audit and the implementation of evidence-based practice. We encourage innovation and value staff who are passionate about enhancing patient care and developing services.

We will provide you with a comprehensive induction to the service and site. You will receive regular clinical and managerial supervision, access to senior Occupational Therapy leadership, monthly peer supervision and ongoing opportunities to develop advanced clinical, leadership and service development skills through our established in-service training programme.
