Forest Home Care Support Limited is looking for caring, dependable and respectful Support Workers to provide person-centred care and support to people in their own homes and within the community.

The role may include personal care, medication support, meal preparation, light domestic assistance, companionship, shopping, appointments and support with community activities. All support is provided in accordance with each Client’s assessed needs, Care and Support Plan, risk assessments and personal choices.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

Is kind, reliable, respectful and committed to person-centred support.

Communicates clearly and can complete accurate written records.

Understands the importance of dignity, consent, confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Can work responsibly in Clients’ homes and respond appropriately to changing circumstances.

Is willing to complete all required training and competency assessments.

Understands the limits of the role and seeks guidance when required.

Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to a suitable vehicle for travelling between Clients’ homes and community locations.

Previous care experience is welcome, but suitability, values and willingness to learn are equally important. Appointment will be subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks, including identity, right-to-work, references and an appropriate enhanced DBS check.

Key responsibilities

As a Support Worker, you will:

Provide safe, compassionate and respectful care and support.

Promote each Client’s independence, dignity, choice and wellbeing.

Support with personal care, mobility, meals, medication and daily routines where agreed.

Provide companionship and support Clients to maintain relationships, interests and community involvement.

Follow Care and Support Plans, risk assessments and agreed working practices.

Obtain consent and respect each Client’s wishes, preferences and right to refuse support.

Observe and report changes in health, wellbeing, needs or circumstances.

Complete care records accurately and promptly.

Recognise and report safeguarding concerns, accidents, incidents and medication concerns without delay.

Follow infection prevention, health and safety, moving and handling, confidentiality and data-protection requirements.

Work professionally with Clients, relatives, representatives, colleagues and relevant professionals.

Attend required training, supervision, appraisal and competency assessments.
