Overview

We are recruiting a permanent, part‑time Payroll Coordinator based in Leicester, working four days per week with hybrid working options. The role involves managing the end‑to‑end payroll cycle, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time, and collaborating with HR and Finance teams to verify payroll data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process weekly and monthly payrolls from start to finish.
  • Calculate statutory payments, including SSP, SMP, SPP and other payroll deductions.
  • Manage starters, leavers, salary changes and employee benefits within the payroll system.
  • Process pension contributions and ensure compliance with auto‑enrolment requirements.
  • Submit RTI information to HMRC and ensure payroll complies with current legislation.
  • Prepare and issue payslips, P45s, P60s and other payroll documentation.
  • Respond to payroll queries from employees and resolve issues promptly.
  • Complete payroll reconciliations and support month‑end reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and maintain accurate employee records.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Payroll Coordinator, Administrator, Officer or similar role.
  • Experience processing end‑to‑end payroll for weekly and/or monthly runs.
  • Good knowledge of payroll legislation, HMRC requirements and statutory payments.
  • Experience processing pensions and understanding of auto‑enrolment.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle confidential information confidently.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and payroll software.
  • Proactive approach with excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
  • A CIPP qualification or payroll‑related training is advantageous but not essential.
