The Volunteer Website Developer at RSPCA Woodside Animal Centre is responsible for developing, and optimising the centre’s website to support fostering, adoption, fundraising, events, and community engagement activities.

What difference will you make?

By improving the website, you will help us reach more supporters, showcase the animals in our care who are available for adoption or fostering, and streamline processes such as donations, sign-ups, and information sharing. A more intuitive, well-designed site will make it easier for supporters to engage with us and create user profiles, allowing us to better understand and communicate with our community.

This will enable us to target campaigns more effectively, increase awareness of our work, and ultimately raise more funds for animal welfare.

What are we looking for?
  • Proven experience with Word Press website development
  • Good understanding of SEO principles and digital best practices
  • Experience setting up and managing analytics tools and tracking pixels
  • Ability to work independently and remotely while maintaining regular communication
  • Experience working or volunteering within the charity sector would be beneficial but not essential

Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS and plugins is desirable.

What will you be doing?
  • Lead the redesign, development, and ongoing improvement of the centre’s website.
  • Create and update key website pages including Fostering, Adoption, Events, Raffle/Lottery, and Donations.
  • Integrate and maintain website functionality such as event bookings, online donation processing, user profiles, and email marketing sign-ups.
  • Ensure website content is structured clearly and optimised in line with SEO best practices.
  • Implement and manage tracking tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Meta/Facebook Pixel) to monitor website performance and user engagement.
  • Provide regular maintenance, updates, troubleshooting, and performance improvements.

Maintain appropriate data protection, security, and compliance standards across the website.
