Senior Techical Specialist - Desktop

Hays Recruitment is partnering with Leicestershire County Council to fill the role of Senior Technical Specialist – Desktop, a 12‑month fixed‑term contract.

As the Subject Matter Expert, you will own and be responsible for the maintenance, support, development and consultancy of specific technology stacks within the Desktop infrastructure, ensuring that IT system services remain stable, reliable and resilient in a cost‑effective manner.

You will mentor and guide technical specialists and other technical staff, and coordinate small teams of technicians to deliver new services and service improvements.

The role involves both BAU and project work. Required technical knowledge includes Windows 11, Windows Server, Intune, Bit Locker, Azure Virtual Desktop, multi‑factor authentication, and enterprise printer support.

There will be occasional out‑of‑hours requirements for planned works or major incidents, therefore you must be within an hour of the location and have your own transport.
