This consulting firm is seeking a Data Governance Lead for a 6-month hybrid contract based in Norwich, with 3 days onsite per week. The role focuses on developing and implementing enterprise-wide data governance frameworks, establishing governance standards, and ensuring compliance across a complex data environment.
Responsibilities:- Develop and implement enterprise-wide data governance strategies and roadmaps, defining governance objectives, KPIs, success metrics, structures, roles, and responsibilities
- Create and enforce data governance policies, standards, and procedures including data security, privacy controls, and alignment with regulatory requirements such as GDPR and CCPA
- Oversee data classification, ownership models, life cycle management, and data quality metrics, collaborating with data owners and stewards to resolve quality issues
- Implement metadata management processes, maintaining data dictionaries, glossaries, and lineage documentation, and manage governance platforms such as Collibra or BigID
- Monitor compliance and effectiveness of governance policies, presenting dashboards and reports to senior leadership, and conduct training and awareness programmes to promote a culture of data stewardship
- 8-15 years of strong experience in data governance, with a deep understanding of data governance frameworks, best practices, and enterprise-wide implementation
- Expertise in data privacy regulations and compliance standards including GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA, with experience enforcing policies and controls across complex data estates
- Experience managing data governance platforms such as Collibra or BigID, with familiarity with AI/ML tools for automated compliance and data classification
- Strong knowledge of metadata management, data lineage, data dictionaries, business glossaries, and data quality frameworks
- Proven ability to engage senior stakeholders, present governance reporting and dashboards to leadership, and build a culture of data stewardship and accountability across an organisation
- Initial 6 month contract (Inside IR35)
- Hybrid in Norwich
- £450 per day Inside IR35
