This permanent post sits in Amber Valley Borough Council's ICT team, leading the operations and support function that keeps its technology running. Whatthe job involves
- Lead and develop the Council's ICT Operations & Support Team
- Ensure reliable, resilient and secure ICT services across the Council
- Manage ICT infrastructure, networks, cloud services, telecommunications and business systems
- Lead cyber security, information governance, business continuity and disaster recovery arrangements
- Manage ICT contracts, suppliers and service level agreements to deliver value for money
- Oversee ICT operational and capital budgets
- Develop business cases, procurement exercises and investment proposals
- Advise senior managers, elected members and stakeholders on ICT matters
- Significant experience managing ICT operations within a complex organisation
- Experience leading ICT support and infrastructure teams
- Experience managing suppliers, contracts and service level agreements
- Proven budget management and financial monitoring experience
- Experience managing Microsoft 365 and cloud-based services
- Strong knowledge of ICT infrastructure, networking, cloud services and telecommunications
- Sound understanding of cyber security, risk management and information governance
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to drive service improvement, innovation and organisational change
- Right to work authorisation in the UK
- Commitment to professional development and ongoing learning
- Local government or public sector ICT environments
- Microsoft Azure and modern workplace technologies
- ITIL service management practices
- Cyber Essentials, ISO
27001, PSN or similar frameworks - Development of ICT strategies, roadmaps and digital transformation programmes
