Overview
A Purchasing Manager is required for a well‑established Leicester business in a permanent, full‑time role (Monday to Friday) with an annual salary between £40,000 and £48,000. The role involves taking ownership of procurement across multiple sites, ensuring materials, equipment and services are sourced efficiently and delivered on time.

- Managing end‑to‑end procurement and purchasing activities across multiple sites and projects
- Sourcing materials, equipment, plant hire and services while negotiating best prices and commercial terms
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and monitoring supplier performance
- Raising and managing purchase orders, ensuring accurate records and timely deliveries
- Supporting construction, refurbishment and maintenance projects by coordinating materials and contractor quotations
- Managing stock levels, inventory and purchasing forecasts to meet business needs
- Overseeing supplier invoices, credits and purchasing records in close collaboration with the finance team
- Managing utility contracts and supporting energy procurement across business sites
- Driving improvements to procurement processes, purchasing systems and supplier performance
- Producing procurement reports and leading and supporting the Purchasing Assistant
- Previous experience as a Purchasing Manager, Procurement Manager, Senior Buyer or in a similar role
- Strong experience managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts and achieving cost savings
- Experience purchasing materials, equipment or services within construction, property, facilities management or a similar environment is highly advantageous
- Knowledge of purchase order management, invoice reconciliation and procurement best practice
- Experience managing stock control, inventory and supplier performance
- Strong commercial awareness with excellent negotiation and problem‑solving skills
- Experience improving procurement processes and implementing purchasing systems is beneficial
- Confident communication skills with ability to build relationships at all levels of the business
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and procurement or ERP systems
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience is advantageous
