Temporary Maintenance Operative – Student Accommodation

Overview

We are recruiting a Temporary Maintenance Operative to support a busy student accommodation site in Leicester. Working 24 hours per week (9am–3pm), this role plays a key part in ensuring the property remains safe, well maintained and fully operational. You will carry out day‑to‑day maintenance tasks and respond promptly to issues across the site.

This is a hands‑on, site‑based role suited to someone practical, reliable and comfortable working independently within a residential environment.

• Carrying out day‑to‑day repairs and minor maintenance tasks
• Responding promptly and effectively to maintenance requests
• Completing basic plumbing, electrical and joinery works within your skillset
• Ensuring health and safety standards are followed at all times
• Supporting site staff with room set‑ups or emergency works when required
• Maintaining a safe, tidy and professional living environment

• Previous maintenance or handyman experience is essential
• Confident using basic tools and maintenance equipment
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong awareness of health and safety requirements
• Customer‑focused approach when working on site
