What difference will you make?- A meaningful opportunity to shape the future of one of Leicester’s most culturally impactful charities.
- Exposure to strategic leadership, governance, and multi-stakeholder decision-making.
- A chance to use your skills to improve community cohesion for over 13,000 residents a year.
- Personal growth, new networks, and the joy of working with a passionate, values-driven team.
- Experience developing or overseeing organisational strategy, business planning or transformation.
- Ability to analyse complex information, identify patterns and create structured, realistic plans.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to bring diverse voices into a cohesive direction.
- Excellent communication and diplomacy, able to lead through influence rather than authority.
- Commitment to Kainé’s mission, values and improving community cohesion in Leicester.
- Experience in charity governance or serving on a board or committee.
- Understanding of Leicester’s cultural landscape.
- Experience supporting organisations through growth or change.
As Strategy Trustee, you will chair the Strategy Committee and steward progress on all strategic priorities, ensuring alignment across our funds, programmes, partnerships, earned income activity, and long-term vision, including the future Kainé Centre. You will collaborate closely with colleagues across Operations, Finance, Community Engagement, Youth, and Programmes to ensure we stay accountable to our mission and adaptable to the realities of our city.
This role sits at the heart of our growth journey.
- Design and lead the delivery of the organisation’s strategic plan and drive progress against agreed priorities.
- Maintain and update implementation plans, ensuring clarity of timelines and responsibilities.
- Assign and oversee work within the Strategy Committee.
- Liaise with Finance, Operations, Community Engagement and Programmes to ensure organisation-wide alignment.
- Provide regular reports to the Board on progress, issues, risks and opportunities.
- Ensure committee members have the information required to contribute effectively.
- Attend Strategy Committee and Board meetings consistently, fulfilling duties expected of all Trustees.
