Environment, Health and Safety Manager

A well-established and growing industrial business is seeking an experienced HSEQ Manager to lead its Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality function.

This is a highly visible leadership role, offering the opportunity to influence business strategy, drive cultural change, and shape the future of HSEQ performance across a complex operational environment.

Reporting into senior leadership, the successful candidate will take ownership of compliance, management systems, auditing, risk management, training and continuous improvement, ensuring the business continues to operate to the highest standards of safety, quality and environmental performance.

As HSEQ Manager, responsibilities will include:

• Leading all Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality activities across the business.
• Driving a proactive and positive safety culture throughout the organisation.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, environmental permits and industry standards.
• Acting as the subject matter expert and key point of contact for all HSEQ matters.
• Managing and continuously improving ISO-certified management systems.
• Leading internal and external audits, inspections and compliance reviews.
• Investigating incidents, accidents and near misses, ensuring effective corrective actions are implemented.
• Developing policies, procedures and management system documentation.
• Producing HSEQ performance reports and presenting findings to senior stakeholders.
• Leading training, competency and workforce development programmes.
• Building strong relationships with regulators, auditors, customers and external stakeholders.
• Supporting operational teams to deliver best practice across safety, quality and environmental performance.

The successful candidate will be a confident and influential HSEQ professional with experience operating within a fast-paced industrial environment.

• Manufacturing
• Logistics
• FMCG
• Heavy Industrial Operations
• Proven experience leading Health, Safety and Environmental functions.
• Experience managing ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
• Strong understanding of auditing, compliance and risk management.
• Experience leading investigations and implementing corrective actions.
• Previous people management or leadership experience.
• Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of an organisation.

• NVQ Level 4 (or higher) in Occupational Health & Safety Practice or equivalent.
• Internal or Lead Auditor qualification advantageous.
• Professional membership or working towards membership of a recognised H&S body beneficial.
